| Our Mission | ||

JWS is a non-profit organization whose major mission is to
create a more gender equitable society by means of sports. To put
it in another way, it is like selecting sports as a route to climb a
high mountain called "a more gender equitable society." Here,
the term sports refers to a broad range of sports, including
athletic sports, lifetime sports, physical education at schools, and
sports for elderly people as well as for people with disabilities.
In order to achieve our major mission, special attention will be first given to promote women's participation in sport and to increase the number of opportunities for women's leadership. Further, by improving the status of women in sport, we will strive for enhancing the quality of and improving the status of women in society. JWS is established to make it happen. By networking and cooperating with other national and international organizations, JWS will provide enlightenment and support at any place, at any opportunity, and to any people in Japan and worldwide to achieve our mission. |
